After two days trapped in a darkened room, being subjected to repetition after repetition of the 16 songs from the first semi, you'd think we'd have a pretty good idea of what's qualifying, wouldn't you?
Wrong!
The four of us currently present in the ESC Nation team put our heads together this evening, and each nominated our ten qualifiers. Here's how many 'yes'es each song got, and of course 4 is the highest score.
Austria - 0
Estonia - 2
Slovenia - 0
Croatia - 3
Denmark - 4
Russia - 4
Ukraine - 4
Netherlands - 4
Montenegro - 2
Lithuania - 0
Belarus - 3
Moldova - 4
Ireland - 4
Cyprus - 0
Belgium - 2
Serbia - 4
Which means we think it's Denmark, Russia, Ukraine, Netherlands, Moldova, Ireland and Serbia who are the most likely to go through. Austria, Slovenia, Lithuania and Cyprus are pretty much doomed, which leaves the others to fight over the remaining three final places.

ReplyDeleteIm afraid NL will not qualify. Ukraine and Montenegro seems just too impressive on stage and sound really fresh. Cyprus has a good draw imo and could qualify! I dont understand why slovenia didnt receive any YES lol, i thought it was good.

ReplyDeleteI'm not sure about Netherlands and Ireland, but I agree with the rest. For the last 3 spots: Estonia, Belarus and..Cyprus (a breath of simplicity in an ocean of bling). Cheers! Yo're the best! ;)

ReplyDeleteWe aim to please! :) Of course it's just based on the first rehearsals, and lots might change. Which is exactly why we're doing a prediction now, and there'll be more to come, and they'll be just as wrong - if not wronger! Nobody's forcing you to read our ramblings, after all :)

Netherlands have a stunning song, they should be able to breeze into the final on the televote alone, it's amazing. People commenting here need to forget that they've not made the final since 2004 and base it on the fact that this is a song contest and that they've got one of the strongest songs here this year.
